To keep such a well-known story fresh, a unique interpretation of the text is required. There needs to be a defining factor to draw an audience in who know the story inside out. We have sat down with the script and developed a post-Armageddon setting involving war lords, repressed women and outcasts of society to create a ‘Mad Max’-esque style situation, which from research, is a completely new and original take on the classic story. Shakespeare’s text can be easily manipulated to enhance the overall situation and environment the story takes place in.
